Happy National Iced Tea Day, y'all!

Today, June 10th, is National Iced Tea Day. Yes, it's an actual holiday with celebrations and freebies. Who knew, right?

Summerville, South Carolina has long billed itself as the birthplace of sweet tea. Today, they're celebrating by going for a world record for the largest sweet tea. Wow! When they're finished, it will measure 1,400 gallons of sweet tea made with 200 pounds of tea leaves from the Charleston Tea Plantation, 2,800 pounds of ice and 2,100 pounds of Dixie Crystals Sugar. Now that's my kind of world record! Read more about Summerville's supersized sweet tea here.

NPR has more information on the history of tea in America. It seems that in the past, many teas were spiked with alcohol, quite unlike the teas we usually drink today. According to them, about 85% of tea imbibed in the United States today is iced tea. They didn't give any statistics on the percentage of sweet tea vs unsweetened tea consumed. Read more about it at NPR's website here.

International Business Times has some freebies for National Iced Tea Day listed here. Enjoy some free iced tea today!

To go along with Summerville's sweet tea, I'm offering you lemon and orange slices for your digital designs.  These are for personal use only, please. Just right click and save.

Y'all enjoy! And while you're sipping on that delicious free iced tea and playing with my free fruit slices, please like my Facebook page here. I'll be posting some exclusive Facebook only freebies for my fans next week. You won't want to miss them!

Fit for Your Little Princess - Free Digital Scrapbook Kit

March 2013's create a kit challenge theme on the PhotoImpact International scrapbook forum was The Little Princess. Being a princess myself, it wasn't hard to come up with elements for the kit. The oh so difficult part was editing all of the elements I created into a cohesive kit!

As my first cousin's son and his wife just welcomed their first child, a beautiful daughter, into the world in early March, this themed challenge couldn't have come at a better time. We're all so excited about the newest addition to our family and so happy for them.

If you use PhotoImpact, I highly suggest you join us on the forums. We even have a forum devoted to Photoshop and Photoshop Elements! Click here to join.

Please leave a comment if you download.

Facebook Timeline Template #1

Presenting the first in a series of Facebook timeline templates for your personal use. I've been having fun designing these and will add more in the near future. I love updating my timeline often.

My favorite felines reluctantly agreed to model for me so I could put together this sample for you. They kindly request that you share a comment with them when you download the template. They're hoping for treats. They'd really love it if you'd tweet them that you liked their photos. @ScottyKitty is the orange tabby. His brother, @SuluKitty, is the brown tabby. They really are brothers from the same litter, shelter kitties we adopted when they were 2 1/2 months old.

You can download the Zip file, which contains a JPG version, a PSD template and a copy of the sample timeline from 4shared here or dropbox here.

Happy Almost 2013!

Oh my stars, did 2012 speed by faster than a bullet train or was that just for me? OK, so it's not quite over yet, but as quickly as the hands on my clock above my desk turn, it might as well be. It seems I just get started on a project and three or four hours have flown by. Eek!

Here's a freebie for you for your personal use only. You may add it to your blogs or facebook timeline if you wish. Just don't use it commercially or claim it as your own.

I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! May you prosper, flourish and enjoy 2013.

I've got the January blues

I have a bad case of the January blues. It's cold, grey and generally yucky outside. My cats wander around the house, meowing for the sun beams of summer to return. I have to admit that I miss the sunshine too and can't wait for warmer weather, leaves on trees and flowers to return. Until then, I have to remember that nature rests in winter to prepare for the beautiful blooms and leaves of spring!

So, here are the results of my January Blues pity party for you wrapped up in a mini kit with 4 papers, 4 tiles and 22 elements, including 2 pieces of word art.

Click here to download this kit.

As usual with my free kits and elements, this kit is for your personal use only. Please don't share my files with your friends. Instead, please direct them to my blog, where they can download the files. Thank you!

NOTE: I updated the preview to my new style. If you downloaded this kit in 2012, it's the same kit, same elements with a new preview.

Saint Patrick's Day Candy Bar Wrappers

Are you ready for Saint Patrick's Day? Here are two Saint Patrick's Day candy bar wrapper designs you can print and use to overwrap standard sized chocolate bars. I've included two versions of each wrapper - one with words and one without, so you can customize your wrappers if you want to.

I'll share some wrapped bars with friends next Thursday! Head over to my craft blog, thatcraftyredhead.blogspot.com, for pictures of some of my finished bars.

And I couldn't resist sharing this word art I created with you!

Happy scrapping and wrapping!
