Happy National Iced Tea Day, y'all!

Today, June 10th, is National Iced Tea Day. Yes, it's an actual holiday with celebrations and freebies. Who knew, right?

Summerville, South Carolina has long billed itself as the birthplace of sweet tea. Today, they're celebrating by going for a world record for the largest sweet tea. Wow! When they're finished, it will measure 1,400 gallons of sweet tea made with 200 pounds of tea leaves from the Charleston Tea Plantation, 2,800 pounds of ice and 2,100 pounds of Dixie Crystals Sugar. Now that's my kind of world record! Read more about Summerville's supersized sweet tea here.

NPR has more information on the history of tea in America. It seems that in the past, many teas were spiked with alcohol, quite unlike the teas we usually drink today. According to them, about 85% of tea imbibed in the United States today is iced tea. They didn't give any statistics on the percentage of sweet tea vs unsweetened tea consumed. Read more about it at NPR's website here.

International Business Times has some freebies for National Iced Tea Day listed here. Enjoy some free iced tea today!

To go along with Summerville's sweet tea, I'm offering you lemon and orange slices for your digital designs.  These are for personal use only, please. Just right click and save.

Y'all enjoy! And while you're sipping on that delicious free iced tea and playing with my free fruit slices, please like my Facebook page here. I'll be posting some exclusive Facebook only freebies for my fans next week. You won't want to miss them!

It's been a while

It's been a while since I've posted. I started a new business, and that took time and energy away from designing. Since multitasking isn't my forte, so a few things had to go on the back burner. This blog is one of those things.

Happily, I'm back! And I've been working on some surprises for y'all. While I was gone, I started working with Photoshop and Lightroom, so I'll be adding goodies for those programs as well as for digital scrapbooking, PhotoImpact and PaintShop Pro.

Here's a free candy bar wrapper for you! This one fits the regular sized chocolate bar. It coordinates with my Bluebird Showers Mini Kit.

You can download it here.

It's time for me to go and get dressed. Today, my local Chamber of Commerce is hosting our governor at a luncheon. I'm excited! I'd love to see photos of your wrapped candy bars or anything else you create with my kits.

Fibromyalgia Awareness Blog Train

This month's Blog Train Lists awareness blog train is for fibromyalgia awareness. Fibromyalgia affects so many people, mostly women. The pain, fatigue and other symptoms take a toll on their bodies, their lives and their families. Sadly, many people don't know that fibromyalgia is a real syndrome.

Triune Blog Train is Up!

This month's Triune Blog Train theme is "I will make them one nation." And I had to restrain myself from creating fifty eleventy million papers and elements for this kit. I'll probably release an add on kit that will go with this one closer to the Fourth of July.

I'm an unabashed patriot, and am very proud of my country. We may not always get things right the first time, but through cooperation and prayer, we usually get them right eventually. I love red, white and blue, fireworks, barbecue, the Star Spangled Banner and the Pledge of Allegiance.

I hope you can use this kit to scrap your Fourth of July pages or any patriotic pages. This one was an absolute pleasure to create. Enjoy!

Download from 4Shared or Dropbox.

Let me know if you download the kit and what you think of it. And I'd love to see some of your scrapped pages using this kit.

Pixel Scrappers June 2013 Blog Train is up!

Woohoo! Pixel Scrappers June 2013 Blog Train, Pond Life, has left the station. This is my first blog train with Pixel Scrappers. I'm so excited that I decided to join their site and their train!

If you haven't visited them, I highly suggest you do! Find Pixel Scrappers here. There's too much on the site for me to list it all, so you'll want to join and check out their forums. They have challenges where you can participate, or not. Your activity level is up to you. I'm really enjoying the challenges and the sharing on the forums. And when you join, you can get some free downloads. Who doesn't love that?

I love ponds. My parents had one when they lived in the country and it was fabulous. It was so peaceful to fall asleep to the sounds of the frogs croaking their lullabies. We loved watching the pond come alive in the spring:  tadpoles,  baby fish and baby ducklings following their parents for their first outing on the pond. I will admit that I wasn't pleased when I saw a snake!

So, here's my part of the blog train. You have 6 papers and 14 elements to play with. I'd love to hear from you if you do download the kit. Let me know if you have any problems downloading or comments on the elements or papers. Your comments help me make better kits!

Scrap It Simple - Wilma4Ever Blog Train for May 2013

I am so sorry! I was stuck in the mountains of Tennessee with no internet access. I verified with the resort before I left that I would have access. When we got there, they informed us that their internet was down. Oh the frustration when I couldn't get my part uploaded in time!

But we're back at home with working internet. Hurray!

Here is my very late contribution. This is my very first CU (commercial use) kit, so I'm excited! Please note that there are two download links for the papers, Papers1 and Papers2. You'll need to download both to get all 7 papers.

Dropbox     Elements     Papers1    Papers2
4Shared      Elements     Papers1    Papers2

As always, please let me know if you have problems downloading or with the kit. I'd love to hear from you if you do download.

Late Blog Train Kits, Spotty Resort Internet and the Laptop That Lost It's Mind on Cape Cod

And this kit is very late. It's not even on the blog train list. I had everything ready to go, except the preview, before we left for a trip to Cape Cod three days before the kit was due.

I made sure I copied everything to my portable external hard drive. I double checked the laptop to make sure it was working and that the software I needed was loaded. It's the previous version, but I'd purchased full version copy of the new version, so I'm in compliance. I updated the virus scanner and ran it. I had it all ready to go. I made sure everything was packed, including back up cd's, just in case. I confirmed that the laptop case was in the car before we left. I was ready for anything, or so I thought.

And then we get to the resort. Between the spotty internet service that went down around 9 pm every night and didn't come back up until just after 9 am every morning, and my laptop deciding to lose it's mind on the first night we were there, well, I didn't get the kit finished and uploaded in time to make the blog train cut off. Yes, I had my recovery CD. Of course, it was corrupted. And even though the resort finally found a temporary workaround for the internet service, it was too late for the blog train. Lessons in patience, right? Argh!

I thought about not uploading the kit here, and I'm happy that I thought again!

The April Triune Blog Train theme is Above Rubies Proverbs 31:10. And the colors are gorgeous! I had so much fun with this one.

My laptop is back in business and I'm working on May's Triune Blog Train kit. May's theme is Father's Strength. You are going to love the colors! The blog train will go live on 15 May, so check back then.
